Overview
Why This Course Matters
Drawing from the evidence-based principles of military combat medicine (TCCC), the course focuses on the M.A.R.C.H. assessment (Massive hemorrhage, Airway, Respiration, Circulation, Hypothermia) and is structured around three distinct phases of care:
- Hot Zone (Direct Threat Care): Care rendered while under active attack or in imminently dangerous conditions.
- Warm Zone (Indirect Threat Care): Care rendered once the threat has been suppressed but may still resurface.
- Cold Zone (Evacuation Care): Care rendered while the patient is being moved to a safe extraction point or medical facility.
Key Skills Covered:
- Hemorrhage Control: Advanced use of tourniquets, wound packing, and hemostatic agents.
- Airway & Respiration: Surgical airway management and needle chest decompression.
- Tactical Movement: Techniques for dragging and carrying victims to safety under pressure.
- Special Populations: Caring for pediatric patients and wounded responders in the field.
The course is endorsed by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma and is considered the industry standard for tactical medical training in the civilian sector.
